Childcare – ‘Bamboo’

Childcare – ‘Bamboo’

Catch London quartet Childcare live and you may well get absorbed into a psuedo-cultish swirl of chants of “Childcare is the only thing that matters.” We’ll be writing more about that intense experience and how bloody good a band they are in due course, no doubt, but in the meantime comes a highlight of many a recent set as their first release via Big Indie Records.

The delicious ‘Bamboo’ sees bassist Emma Topolski assume lead vocals for the first time, with their characteristic wit easing slightly to make way for a storming urgency that becomes more compelling by the day. More like this – which, of course, they have in droves through the the Made Simple and Luckyucker EPs – and they won’t even *need* the brainwashing.
