Novacub – ‘I Still Need It’
If you’re one of us delightful hipster people that takes delight from nothing more than discovering a brand new band smashing it right out of the gates – and, let’s face it: if you’ve clicked this far then your membership card is in the post, like it or not – then please join us in sharing a delightful treat. Their name is Novacub, they’re a spritely indie quartet from London, and – having spent 2018 playing the odd gig here and there when not preoccupied with cruelly teasing the prospect of actually releasing any of the rather enjoyable songs they’d been working on – there’s FINALLY three-and-a-bit superb minutes of recorded music of theirs now available over on all your favourite digital music distribution platforms.
‘I Still Need It’ is a fabulous way to kick things off, and just a taste of what’s in the pipeline. If you’ve been with us since the beginning, you may remember they were the very first live band to feature on our Instagram story, back when they popped up in a literal cave in Shadwell to knock the socks off the two dozen people who could fit in. Today, not even three months later, you can catch them opening in prestigious venues up and down the land on a sell-out Kaiser Chiefs run. And the good, good news? There’s plenty more of this ilk to come, as long as the whole TWO OF THEM BEING BLOC PARTY’S LOUISE BARTLE AND RUSSELL LISSACK doesn’t sidetrack proceedings too much.
And they have excellent taste in colours.
